I have an old John Deere planter in the back of my shed that I would like to restore, even though I don't like green, lol. I don't know the model year or any info about it. It's a two row John Deere & Mansur planter, horse drawn. It has steel wheels and is in amazing condition. I have about a dozen different seed plates for it and don't need to replace any parts, just sand blast it and paint it. It's kind of weird. The covers on the galvanized seed boxes have a deer on them and Deere and Mansur surrounding it. The seat on it is neat. It has hortizontal stripes in it, kind of like a fan. I have never seen or heard of one like this. What would a planter like this be worth in this condition? ANY info on this planter or others like it is welcome. Thanks in advance!

Predates the Deere 999. Could be a 99? or was that a 9? I forget, but after 1922, I think, the planters said only Deere and Company on them, no more Mansur.

I don't know anything about it, but if it's a cast iron seat without any defects, can be worth a mint - several 100 dollars.

look on ebay every now and then and see how much they are selling for. i got a dearborn 2 row planter a few months ago, 75 bucks, chanute kansas.
