I am looking at a Hesston 1130 Haybine. It looks to be in pretty good condition. Can anyone give me information on how good of machine this is? I have only ever worked with NH. This machine has a metal roll on bottom and rubber on top, how well does this work?

Thanks in advance.

Art. I have a real nice 1460 disc mow cond for sale if that would help. I am just going to a larger unit. Personally I like the steel rolls for conditioning. Are little more agressive and seem to last alot longer. Rick

Whats a 1460 discbine sell for? Is a New Idea discbine the same as a Hesston?

SOme NewIdeas, Hesstons and CaseIH are the same. would have to find a knowledgeable dealer to figure that out exactly which ones crossed over. most of the older (well not real old) CaseIH hay/forage tools were the same as Hesston just different colors as they had a parternship. AGCO bought Hesston's 1/2 of the partnership and then all of it when the italians (newholland) bought CaseIH... since AGCO owns NewIdea some NI and Hesstons are/could be the same.

1030, 1091, these numbers mean nothing to me. I have to see the machine to assess it. Like I said earlier, "I like our Hestons" Some decades ago Heston was first if not the first making Hay condiyioners. They advertsed there hay making proccess "Hestonizing" For the most part I like there `Model T' aproach to machinery design. Might add every hay maker out there has its own quirks. Good luck on your choice. Fern from Mi.
