I am posting this here, in hopes of getting a response.. I didn't get one from the garden tractor area.. here is what I have going..
I am building a homemade push blade for moving snow. I am attaching it to a homemade machine that has tracks. Can someone tell me how thick their push blades is for their garden tractor. I am thinking of going 3/16" thick, is this thick enough? Or too thick?? the machine is about 4 feet wide and 6 feet long it weighs about 300 pounds I would guess.. Any thoughts or ideas? I would appreciate it!!

I build a few blades for garden tractors and 6/16 or 1/4 will do fine. My Farmall Cub has a front factory blade and its 1/4 inch and can push alot of dirt. How are you going to form your metal with a roller or a brake press? Id be interested in seeing your crawler. Take care Taylor Lambert

should be thick enough if your machine is no heavier than that. If you make it to heavy you'll have trouble handling it with small machine. Distance you mount the blade out in front will determine handling as well. You may want to hang some weight on it and see how it does. if possible. My 2 cents

easy way to add weight to it would be to build a small stand for you. if it was me it would eb an extra 250 lbs!!
