Problem on a New Idea picker

I've got a 323 model New Idea corn picker that has several of the rubber fingers broke off of the rubber wheels over the husking bed. Anybody know if you can buy these things any more. I have many of the fingers - is there any adhesive that would put them back on. The whole idea of the rubber wheels doesn't seem like a great idea to me to begin with.

They are still available from AGCO, but they are not cheap. The rubber fingers when new are more agressive than the earlier belt flap wheels for heavy corn flow across the husking bed, but once the rubber starts to dry out, the stars fall apart quickly.

I had (still have) an old NI 300 picker. Felt it was kinda slow/poor so I picked up a NI 323 (I think, 2 row wide) this fall. Was really disappointed with it in the _very_ dry corn of this unusual year. While the snap rollers worked better, the corn stalks brok off & plugged up that very narrow throat. _All_ the time. And then when I go to unplug it, there is no place to throw the hand-husked corn.

With the old 300 model, that big wide open throat took a lot of stuff away from the front. The problem with it was the rear elevator couldn't keep up with 180 bu corn, and the narrow husking bed barely could.

Now the 'new improved' model has a good elevator & the wide husking bed, but the throat is slower feeding than the old model!!!!

I won't totally judge, as one doesn't normally ear pick 13-14% corn, but was a poor first impression. Glad I still have the 300 in the shed.....

Paul, I'm not familiar with the layout of a 300, but will the husking bed off the 324 fit on the gathering unit of the 300? I know my 311 and its 313 husker can be fairly easily parted to put a 315 sheller unit on. The 300 may have preceded the "modular" concept that New Idea adopted with the 311 and up models.
