Early Ford Balers

When one bought an 8N, 600 or 800 series tractor of that period, what balers did Ford offer? I have heard baler models 150 and 250. How popular were these balers? As I ride around my neck of the woods, for pre-1960 balers, I see New Holland, JD and IH. I have seen one Ford baler, it was red and I think it was a 250.

In my area, those mentioned Ford tractors were the most popular, along with T0 20, 30 & 35 Fergusons. One would think that along with these brand tractors, they would have bought the same brand balers.

Thanks,
Bill

I had a 250 for several years, in the '70's- it worked pretty well, but not a high capacity deal. Most remarkable feature was an arm that swung in and out of the bale chamber to push the hay in- the arm actually went all the way in the chamber when the plunger was back. Obviously would be a big problem if it got out of time, but was driven off the main drive gear and couldn't jump time, so was mainly just a "problem" that onlookers quickly commented on when they first saw it. Like any old baler, you're buying condition- and if its good, I'd be as comfortable with it as any brand.
