Hi, I just purchased a 2 bottom IH Little Genius Plow. It is very restorable but it is in bad shape. The tires are all shredded up. What are the correct kind of tires for this plow? Where could I purchase a set? I want to keep the plow all original. What kind of paint do I use? What color should the different parts of the plow be painted? Paint codes would be very helpful. I appreciate any suggestions and help I can get.

6.ooX16 is what is on mine. I don't think there is such a thing as a correct tire. The dealer took delivery of the plows in an unassembled condition, he then put it all together, and used whatever tires he had laying around, or whatever used tires he could purchase from the service station down the street.
Also, you mentioned that the tires you have are in shredded condition, which means that the steel rims have been exposed to the elements, and are probably rusted beyond use. I just went through the same thing, by the time I got all the rust and scale knocked off the rims, they looked like lace. You need to check that out before you buy tires.

When we bought ours it was around WWII and it came without tires. Scrounging up used (usually bald)tires for new implements was the norm during those years.

Do you need a steel wheel, or a wheel for a rubber tire?

Just go to the tire store and buy a 4:80X12" trailer tire, that works and is what most plows have on

Tires were whatever you had on your old Ford, Chevy, ? Car, probably 6:00X16" that were not good enough for the road anymore but were still good enough for the field, this is the way most inplements were sold, When Wards or Sears sold a new wagon with new tires they were just a car tire

I cannot help you on the tires, mine has steel wheels. Here are the colors as defined in Paint decision #37 dated 1927.
Harvestor RED.. Frame and all parts not listed below.
Harvester Cream..Wheels
Harvestor Blue..backs of bottoms,axle,springs,powerlift mechanisim.
Black.. Hitch and rolling coulter yoke.

When I did mine I used Van Sickle, International White, IHC Red, and Ford Blue, and Black.. Russ
