JD 7000 conservation

The conservation planters had a 7x7" frame instead of the 5x7" frame used on the regular models and I think they used a hydraulic cylinder on each lift wheel instead of the single cylinder and rock shaft used on the standard models. The row units on both planters are the same, in almost all conditions even the regular 7000s will do a good job of no-tilling if properly equipped, how you equip them will depend on your conditions and what you are going to plant with it. We have gone away from no-till coulters in favor of row cleaners and spade closing wheels so we can plant in wetter conditions. We have no-tilled with a 4 row 7000, a six row 7200 conservation and now no-till around 1,200 acres of corn every year with a 12 row 7200.
