I have located a ARPS 7' snowblower. Just wondering if this is a good fit for the Farmall 350 (38HP Tractor). Also, the seller indicates it is a fast hitch setup, but I highly doubt he is referring to a 2 pt fasthitch. What should I be looking for when I go see it.... he is asking $850. Thanks, Doug

Is your snow the light, dry powder type or the heavy wet type? Is your snow running under 6" at a time or are you running 2' or more? we have the heavy wet type and deep here, have a neighbor blow ours out and they run a 8' double auger with a late model 150 ? HP John deere and will have to lift and take deep in 2 passes. If your snow is the light powdery type and in the only a couple of inches range the v type with fan should type work but if heavy wet the V will plug before it can even get to the fan

I have seen several Arps blowers with International 2pts on them. I had one that was in excellent shape, 6ft wide, and sold it for $150.00.I did not like the V-style blower. Would plug very easily in damp or deep snow. I think you will be lacking on hp though. I run a 84" dual auger 2 stage blower on an 830 Case (65 hp) in low range reverse, and in heavy snow it's all she wants.

I use a 6' single stage snow blower on a wd45. The Tractor has been heavily modified to put out about 55 hp. I maintain almost 1/2 mile of rural driveway and on heavy wet snowdrifts 1-2' deep the rear tires spin but the blower doesnt lug anything down, you just lose traction. I think with a lot of weight and chains and a slow slow slow reverse you might get by. But I would like to see you have about 10-20 more HP to really make the most out of the 7 footer.

I use a 7' 2-stage 7' blower on the back of my 85hp 7700 & also on the 27hp 1720. I kinda prefer it on the little tractor, other than the cab issue. Works about the same, as the little fellow has slower reverse gears.

The key is live pto which your 350 should have, and a slow slow reverse. If you have the TA working you might be able to do it. With just single reverse gear, going to be a struggle at 7'.

Is the Arps a 2 stage? I can't remember - if it is a V-blower where there is no cross auger at all, just a blower & the snow is supposed to channel down a V shape, then he is asking a little more than double the real value of the blower. Frankly, you can get all those V blowers you want for $200.

Have a 7' Lorenz on the back of a JD 4020 (90 HP).
any thing over a foot deep makes it scream in low reverse and then some times you have to slip the clutch.Good blowers pull hard so I doubt if 38 hp would handle the 7 foot unless you can realy creep.

The two key questions are:
1. How SLOW can you go in reverse?
2. What kind & depth of snow is involved?

I have a 76" snowblower that I have used here in SE Wisconsin, originally on a MF165 and recently with a Kubota M5700. These are both about 50 HP+ tractors. Breaking through drifts on the first, full pass takes all of this power and has me wishing for more. My (Gruetts) blower was listed as for 40 to 60 HP tractors. Unless your 350 is better than stock, you are below this range.
Unless you have real creeper reverse speed, I think that blower is a bit big for 38 HP.
