I have 2 rows of Stanhay "Robin 840" model planters.

I would HIGHLY recommend them for any precision planting. While cucumber can be planted with others, you may eventually expand crops and want one that will plant most anything.

The 840 uses a belt to provide for the correct seed size and spacing. The belt holes are punched to your seed size. As you can see in the photo there is a choke and repeller wheel which helps control the amount of seed to the belt, and in damaging seed before it drops. The photo also shows various shoe openers. Note closely that one is divided to drop three rows of seed, such as for radishes or carrots.

I've planted a number of different crops with mine, including cucumber. I am always amazed at the accuracy and precision on such a wide range of seed sizes. I have belts for seed from cole crops to pumpkin.

Triangle M eqipment was or is the dealer in the US. Expect there are others as a lot of sugar beet growers used them before going to vacuum planters.
