Does anyone remember the "headhunters" we used to use to harvest milo? I have a set of Heston headhunters and just recently bought a set of row units made by Columbus Irrigation Co. They have the name Duncan on them and I am trying to find background information as one of the units is new never used and I want to present it to our county museum.

Cowman, Last set I had anything to do with went with our ol'JD 105 when it was traderd off. Ours had a 24 ft header w/ 7 sets on it, (40 in rows) They were mounted on the platform head minus the reel.Get hold of your local Heston dealer. or, Go into The Archives porition.
Ask the manager @ the Coop if he would know anyone who still has a set they might still have some literature.
Good Luck,
John A.

I have seen a Hesston Headhunter, before I was in high school. It was mounted on a Gleaner, an M2, I think. I forget what specialty crop the guy was using it in but it was the only one like it that was ever in these parts. Never knew there were other manufacturers of those things. I guess Deere's row-crop heads and the Bish adapters to put them on other color combines killed the market for the Headhunters.
