I bought this IH disc this summer and want to fix it up to use next spring. I would like to ID the model # if possible for curiosity sake if nothing else. Anybody have any ideas or pointers on how to find out? It�s about 9� wide.

No, I think that is factory, I have seen them like that before..... ..... .It is a 37 or 370. I believe that hitch is a self leveling feature or something. I have seen 370's with the same set-up.

TP,I don't see any hydraulic cylinder on it.Am I missing something? How do you raise and lower it?

That's why it looks to me as though the rod on it is locking it in the raised position for transport??Maybe?

The first picture was when I brought it home; there was no cylinder on it yet. Here is a close up with the cylinder installed. The rod and linkage raises the front hitch as you raise the wheels keeping it more or less level when raised. Certainly doesn�t look homemade to me. Could it be some kind of optional hitch on a model 37? I couldn�t find any remnants of a model # anywhere on it. Was it actually stamped into it anywhere? Any idea what the difference between a 37 and 370 was. I can t seem to find any reference to a 370 so far.
I also looked around on the net last night and found this picture which was labeled in the ad as a model 37. It has the same rod and linkage but appears to be missing the actual hitch. Thanks for the help!

And the hitch is the same as my #37-It flips forward to hook to the drawbar from it's position between the frame rails.

I have a #37 IH disk and the main frame of this looks like it but that funky rod between the cylinder bracket adn the hitch doesn't ring a bell. The clevis hitch is different on my 37 as well. You might check in with your local Case IH dealer, they may have some old books? Looks like a good disk anyhow!

I think that is either a #37 or #370..... ....I don't know exactly which since that tongue has me thrown for a loop..... Our #37 doesn't have it. If you scrap the paint off on the back of the disc in the center the model # may still be under the paint..... .....Here is our 12ft #37, a really good disk! I rebuilt it two years ago and it works like a charm!

Should the model # be stamped in the frame, on a tag or just a decal? Should it be right in the center like above the rear hitch?

Ours looked like a Decal..... ..... ..Probably long gone if someone painted it "RIGHT", but some guys just spray over them and you can dig them out..... ..... ...Yep, in the middled above the hitch in the rear..... ..

Shoups has alot of parts for them..... .....
