I dont know if this is the proper forum for this or not but here goes.
Dad was on a cleaning spree today, We got his little 40 Dozer going good and he went to town with cleaning an old fense row behind the barn. Amongst all his endevours today he uncovered some things in the weeds that I had long forgot about. Not sure if it is worth much, But I hate to see it go to the scrap yard. He has a scrap buyer ready to pounce on it but I wouldn't let him have it :) If anyone thinks they can do anything with this and wants to make any kind of offer that is better than the scrap man, I'd love to hear from you. Call me a pack rat, But I just hate to see old equipment cut up for scrap. I can't see any names on it but Dad swears that it is a John Deere.

Brings back memories! About 35 years ago my son who is now 43 asked "Dad, what's a hay loader?" I learned to drive in the hay field with a Ford
model A truck pulling a semi trailer with a Massey loader behind. My dad had whittled a willow stick to wedge the hand throttle on the steering column to get just the right speed. My grandmother drove the single white horse on the dump rake to gather scatterings. Bet you never saw a Model A semi!

I'm with you.I hate to see something salvageable go to the scrap heap. Could be a Deere, I don't know. I know it isn't a Massey. Masseys, and I think New Idea, had the big wheels in front and casters in the back. Too bad you didn't advertise this before your dad got to it with the dozer. It looks like there is considerable dozer damage. Ed

Actually I dont think he did much damage other than maybe one wheel. It all looks pretty well intact other than a couple of the rakes missing/rotted. The one wheel that is closest to the ground looks like it may be bent. I may try to get it upright again tomorrow and see what it needs.

Bellville Ohio. North Central part of the state. I'm about 10 miles south of Mansfield, about 60 miles north of Columbus.
