This weekend is an auction of a Massey Ferguson # 12 square baler. Does anyone out there have any info on the baler. In essence are they considered any good.

From what I have read here is that the MF12 was a good baler. I gather that the knotters can be fussey, but if things are kept clean, adjusted and timed, they will bale with any baler. Parts are expensive too. I saw one sale this summer for $450 at an auction this year and it was in pretty good shape.

Good luck,
Bill

The MF 12 baler was made in Canada and there are still lots of them used here. They're similar to NH but not the same. The flywheel, like the NH, is mounted on the end of the pto shaft. You can still get most new parts from their Dealers although MF is a shadow of what they once were. Ag wreckers would likely have parted out machines. I have one and it's given good service. HTH.

massey made there own baler. they are only as good as the person that owned it just like any thing 30 years old. we had a 3 and a 9 and they did a real good job but that was 20 years ago and we took care of them they never sat out in the weather. we did 15000 to 20000 bales a year .
