I have a #9 and it took me probably 2 hours to hook it up when i first got it. Of course I was really green when it came to tractors and implements...still am really. Now I can have that mower hooked up and ready to cut in about 15 minutes. I like it a lot, but I've never had another mower to compare with.

The #9 is more like the #8 than the #5. In fact I believe the #8 was a later and more styled #5, other chaanges also. My parts book for my #8 is for an 8 or 9. As you said the #9 is 3 point so works great on those tractors with one, while the #8 worked on the ones without 3 point. Not sure it was any quicker to attach by the time you hook up the clamps on 3 point arms and all..
