Hi,
I'm looking into setting up a smaller farmall tractor with a loader.
I want to use it for small chores around, moving a little gravel, smoothing little patches, lifting stuff, etc.
We already have a Super M, but we use it for mowing alot, and I thought it might be nice to have a smaller tractor, you always need more tractors.
So does anyone have any experience with this sort of thing? I had been thinking about the one armed loader that was available for the Cub, but I think that it might be too small to really be usefull. What about something for a Super A or numbered machine?

Realistically I know I should consider a newer machine, but current machines are far too expensive, and I prefer the nostalga, and the look of the older farmalls.

Curt, I had a New Idea front end loader on my 46H at the farm until last year. It was quite useful and I packed a bunch of hours on it over an 8 year period. But I pulled "A Red" and badly damaged it. That and age caught up with it and I junked it but I was pleased with what I could do with it while it was working.

I have a Super C with a Henderson loader on it. Very useful for the small jobs, but not much else.

Small jobs encompassing what?
I'd like to be able to put some gravel into the pickup truck for road patching, push my brush pile higher, scoop a little hole maybe, stuff like that.

They can handle small jobs like that. I use mine quite a bit for lifting things my back can't handle, within reason of course. The big thing is that you can't be in a hurry. They operate pretty slow, and are somwhat cumbersome to operate.

Steering the H was a challenge when the loader was hanging on there.
