We have a running gear which has a hay rack on it and is marked "Oliver", but it looks exactly like the Electric Wheel running gears we have. Was it made by Electric Wheel for Oliver? Does anyone know where to get parts for Electric Wheel? It has a broken wheel hub. Thanks.
David

If you have a willing parts store in your town, have them check into the John Day Co in Redwoodfalls, MN.

John Day has many many replacements for a lot of farm equip trailers and such. The downside is they only deal with dealers. I'm lucky, I only live 25 miles and can pick the parts up myself billed through my dealer.

If all else fails, they are worth a shot.

Call Baum Bearing Company in Omaha, 800-228-9222. We used to use these guys after after the Electric wheel stuff started getting scarce. Oliver used the Electric model number as their model number (5026, etc.). Look on the back of your hubs, there will be a number cast into it, probably starting with a "Q" that will help them get you the correct stuff, as some models used two or more different hubs.

It is a bit vague when you say a broken hub. Do you mean bad bearings, a broken flange on the hub or is the spindle also damaged? If it is just bearings most NAPA or other major auto parts store should be able to match the parts. You might need to remove one of the good hubs so that they can match to undamaged parts. One answer is to purchase a stub axle assembly which would include a new spindle, bearings and hub and replace the entire assembly. That option might not apply if it is a front hub on an automotive type steering unit. I have three electric wagons with fifth-wheel type steering they all have 5 lugs on a 5.5" circle. The old JEEP CJ wheels will fit these hubs.
