Heavy Hoe Help!

I put a 3 point Back Hoe Attachment on my Ford 800 Tractor. The Hoe is obviously too heavy for the Tractor, However the Bum I bought it from said it worked well on his 8N.. Ok- My ol 800's Hydraulics are not what they used to be. I can not lift the Backhoe with my 3 point. I have to drag it around my yard. The strange part is that the Backhoe will not work at all until I physically lift up the Hoe..I put a 20 ton Jack under the Hoe, jack it up then them old Hydraulics work like wildfire! I think I want to chain up the 2 lower bars of my 3 point so I dont have to keep jacking it up everytime I move the Tractor, What is the best way to chain up my 3 pt. bars? What causes the weight of the Backhoe to stop my Hydraulics from working- Is the the Tractor trying to compensate and lift up the Hoe? I got a couple jobs to finish on the Yard then this hoes going to market....

Just a few idle thoughts from someone who doesn't know much....

Are you leaving the 3pt selector all the way up? This is putting tremenous strain on your hyd system - basically bypassing all the time at max pressure. Does the backhoe work if you put the selector lever down again, instead of jacking up the hoe?

Are you in position mode, and not draft mode?

Check out the limiter chains used on many mowers - they go from a low point on the mower to the 3-point link on the tractor to keep the 3pt up. However, if your hoe is this big, you are already putting too much stress on your upper link. common to break those off with a 3pt hoe.....

Could you tell us the make & model, or the reach at least, of your hoe? Easier to figure out if you have a too-big hoe, or a too-weak hyd system.
