is that what they are called?. where can i find a good used one for sale' it needs to be an older model that doesn't have to run. how much do they usually go for? needs to be fairly cheap as cheap as things like these go

I saw one for sale about 20 Mi. East of Burlington VT. Near Bolton Valley. Looked to be in good overall condition. Good Luck.

I saw one go for 2 grand canadian a year ago. It was used by an indian reserve for hauling wood out of the bush. Early 50's vintage and the front diff was grenaded, but the tracks and all the sheet metal were intact, and that's the expensive parts. The drive line on those old ones is dodge power wagon. They also had a 1938 halftrack troop carrier that was still running. What'cha planning on doing with one? Reason I ask is that for a lot of uses the SnoCats are too heavy for their size. Up here in canuckland, we use mostly Bombardiers and Nodwells.

If no one here can tell you, I'd make a call to a ski resort and ask where they do their sno-cat trading.

I looked into operating one a few years ago. I didn't much like the idea of getting on such steep terrain, that they tied two together so that the one didn't go over.

I was surprised to learn that the sno-cat crews keep the cats operating 24 hours. I suppose they groom at night and take out skiers during the day.
