Ford 515 sickle bar mower

I just bought a 515 mower and am having trouble lifting it with my Allis D15 tractor.

The tractor lifts my 6' Stan Hoist rotary mower, so I don't think it's the tractor, but probably the guy who is trying to mount the mower on the tractor!

I am missing the pin assembly and spring that attach to the bellcrank assemby (per the parts list). I have attached the chain that is connected to the bellcrank assembly to the tractor drawbar and that helps, but the mower just clears the ground.

Any and all help welcome!!

Wayne,I think you just need to shorten the chain,you might need to slide the draw bar to the right to line up .If you have the book,look on page 6 fig5 it is a good pic of the hook up. Let me know if I can be of more help. kjm

might be your expectations. Even hooked up right, mine only goes up about 2 1/2 feet at the end of the bar...it won't go all the way up on its own.

Might be obvious to folks who've used them before, but when I first got mine I was surprised.
