Nathan, I'm guessing you are referring to a 516, but can you tell me if the main drive up front is a belt or a chain? Steve

Thank you for your response Steve. I do not have the desribed spreader but i would like to get one. I need to know what model no. to put in the ad. Is there more than one version of the 3 beater 205bu. spreader? Could you inform me of the different models and what years they were made?

Nathan, do you really want a 3 beater spreader? If so, you will need to stick with a pretty old model and most of them are rusted out or long since retired. However, I suppose there must be a couple around somewhere. Basicly, the 516 is going to be the newest 200 bushel spreader that New Holland made in the 3 beater configuration. I'm not even sure myself what model numbers prior to the 516 would be around 200 bushel. Possibly the 475 or one of the 300 series, but they are even before my time and I have worked around these machines for 27 years. Having said all of this, I really think you would be happy with a newer 518,519,or 520. They will be 2 beater models, but I personally feel they do a pretty nice job. I'm not going to say they are as good as the 3 beater models, but they aren't bad either. Steve

Thank you for your reply Steve. I have a single beater 519 right now and also an old ground drive JD with 3 beaters. Both are shot. I figured if I am going to rebuild a spreader i might as well get what I want. I like the capacity of the 519 but the JD does a far superior job of spreading. I thought I could combine the best of both. The top beaters Ive seen on the NH spreaders dont look very aggressive but I have never seen one in action. If my quest for a 3 beater turns up nothing I will probably add a top beater to the 519 when I rebuild it.

Nathan, believe me when I say that adding the second beater to your 519 will make an unbelievable difference. Even though it may not look like it, that second beater really works. Steve
