Firstly, I appreciate all the help I have received while in search of an old baler. I think I mentioned a while back that I found two JD 14T balers, one for parts and one for use.But what I have not had the time until this evening is give an account of how I got the things home! After searching here, reading and concluding that the balers were a little to wide to haul, I decided to tow them home behind my truck. About 60 miles - some very busy highway and most narrow back roads with some long grades to boot! First, with wrenches in hand, I pulled the wheels off both balers and and gave the old bearings some grease. Until I jacked the balers up, I was scratching my head as to why the pick-up side wheel was 4 lug and the fly wheel side was 6 lug. The flywheel side is VERY heavy! I then put one set of tires on the baler I was towing and took the set of the other baler for spares if needed - and these tires looked long ago wore out! I was also surprised as to how heavy the tongue of these balers were. No man handling them! But they did not seem to weigh down my truck hitch as I thought they would. With pin in place, I thought I'd be able to get 30mph, no problem. Once out on the highway, the baler started bouncing up and down at a little over 15 mph, soooo it took about 4 hours to get the good baler home. To my surprise, the parts baler rolled much better - 25 mph before bouncing. When I pulled into my driveway with the parts baler, the pick-up side tire started going flat! Timing couldn't have been better. Thanks again for all the help! Bill
