Still looking for a dual spring set up for mine. So far have had no luck at all with it.
I figured I would maybe put 2 new springs on mine until I find a dual spring set up. UFFFDA!!!
IH will sure as heck sell me the springs. $139 each!!! Wont be doing that on a $300 baler.
ANy one know of after market places that sell srings like these?

I don't really think the second spring is that big a deal - I can still get a LOT of hay in a bale and mine only has teh one spring - right at $300 for mine so far - $225 for the baler - and a little belting.....

remember bale density is a combination of things - PTO speed, ground speed, amount of hay being picked up, how the hay was raked, etc.....

Kelly: I know its only a $300. baler, and there is a good reason why it sold for that. People can't get them to bale right after all those little things like proper springs, etc. have gone bad. If you compare the price of a new baler, your not going to get much for under $2,000. Don't be surprised if it takes that to make your baler WORK WELL.

In my opinion hay equipment is worth spending money on if rust is not a factor and someone has not twisted the frame of it doing something stupid. Most implements are in fact that way. Keep the frame straight and it will last a long long time. On that round baler two items I wouldn't comprimise on are belts and springs.

I agree with you on that. But if I can find out who sells the springs to IH and get it for $50 each instead of $139 why not?
