Hey Kelly C, maybe I should send you my old baler for your next project. You could do a rebuild and have it ready for me by next season. You can do this for free right?

Actually my baler doesn't do to bad, it bales straw alot better than grass hay. (It makes nice even weight square bales with either material, but seems to have knot issues when doing the grass.. go figure). The only other problem I seem to have is the product wadding up in the pickup chamber and not being swept into the bale chamber. My guess is I need to experiment with fork placement.

I was going to replace my knotter section this past season, but passed. NH dealer here in central Indiana is quite proud of their parts. (Mine are still doing the job they are supposed to do.) What I do need is the correct rims, specifically the right side and the chain gaurds/rear panel. I also need a set of the bale chamber tension bolts. One of mine is stripped.

Well, anyway, you can also do my 469 Haybine after you get that baler finished. I'm sure you'll find the time after you get that 300 running.

Isn't hobby hay farming fun!

You know I think I really started the haying thing just to have a plausable reason to buy more stuff. If I wouldnt have gotten the costom hay idea. The wife would never have let me have any other tractors other than my H.
In just 1 year after the big idea. I have my H, a 300 and a 400. 3 balers 2 racks a rake a flat bed trailer, a couple of mowers. Still trying to figure a reason I just have to have a 1066.

The 68,69,270,271 balers had a little habit of not feeding certain type crops back into the feeder forks. Over the years I've tried different things and the thing that seems to work the best is to lengthen the winguard rods that lay on top of the pickup. Also, very important that the coil spring that keeps downward tension on the windguard is working. The weight of the windguard rods is not enough. Steve
