I am looking for a good two row planter to use for corn and beans. I am only planting about 5 acres of less for deer food plots, so I dont want to spend too much, but I so want something dependable. If you have anything that would be great. We do have a IH planter, two row. But the fertilizer cans and tubes need work. Also we dont have any plates for beans. I dont know the model, or even where to look for the number.

Any help will be great thanks
Tim

That's a fine offer, hope you come back here for discussion & such. Could I make a couple of suggestions?

1. The folks that run this message board prefer (actually, you went right past it when you posted your message) that there are no -for sale- type ads on the discussion areas. Your offer would be welcome over in the classified area, which is free. What happens is, we end up with 100 ads for stuff on the discussion area, and no one bothers to wade through all the ads to read 'real' messages anymore. So, there is no one left to visit here any more, and no one will see your ad anyhow. This has happened to many discussion forums. Ads kill them off, unfortunately. So the 'no sales ads' request is quite common on most all internet message forums on any topic. As here, there is generally an area set aside for just that, and it works very well that way.

2. If you are going to make an ad for something heavy like machinery parts, you need to give your location. Shipping across the country gets spendy, while 100 miles is pretty easy to deal with.

3. There is no way to contact you, no email address, nothing. So all these folks are replying to you in the forum. Taking up space that was meant for people that want help, not parts.... Anyhow, it's really hard to sell stuiff if you don't let people contact you. Makes your ad seem 'fishy' somehow....

4. Your second message you typed in all caps - that is an internet sign of YELLING at someone, and tends to put people off. It's best not to use all caps unless you are upset with someone.

5. I'm not upset with you chappy. But when you ignore so many issues, it probably hurts your efforts to sell stuff - not making a good first impression to people this way, and while you generate some interest, there are a whole lot more quiet people that will avoid doing business with someone who doesn't present themselves well. I'm just trying to help you out in a friendly way. It looks like you are new to the internet. Once you become familiar with it, you will understand the how & why of some of these written and 'unwritten' rules, and that following them will really help you in the long run.

Good luck. :)

--->Paul

Excellent points- especially on location and shipping. We don't all live next door or in the same state. Paul's suggestions would save a lot of grief. And we wouldn't bother to reply to someone who needs a five dollar part but lives half a country away.

I guess Paul has a good point regarding placing for sale items on this board. I have been on some that have no problem with doing so, however it was not my intention to look fishy or like a first time internet user. I do have some nice planter parts that I would like to part with. I do have a digital camera and could provide pictures. My email is [email protected]
Thanks for the response (Not you Paul) so far.

I have an older JD grain drill with hoe type furrow opener. Do you have parts for this?

Do you have any parts for a Rock Island? I am not sure of what all is exactly needed, but know that some of the drive gears are stripped. He took the 4 row and made a 2 row out of it. My father is not a young man, and because of age and health hasn't used it very much if any in the last few years.
