Just bought a model 30 or 31 loader for my Farmall H. Not positive which model it is. Loader is in nice original condition, but I think I am missing a couple of parts. I went to mount it and the part of the loader frame that bolts to the front of the tractor and frame rails seems too wide by an inch on each side. Does anyone know if there were plates or blocks that go on the tractor first to space it out, or do I just crank the bolts down to draw the frame tight? Seems as though there should be a spacer in there, but don't know for sure. Thanks.

I am guessing that the loader you just bought was previously mounted on an M. If you take a close look at that front piece, you will see how it can be disassembled, and then reassembled to fit your H. These loaders were designed to easily fit either the H or the M, and the M is about an inch or so wider.

yes, I had the same trouble. I used long bolts with double nuts.

Yes, there is a plate that bolts to the front/side of rails for an h farmall. the no. 30 loader has a bucket that has round rods/bolts on the back and top part of the bucket. the 31 loader is solid metal in the same area instead of round rods. also, the peice of metal that goes across, above the tractor throttle, is turned down or towards the operator on the no. 30 loader and on the 31 loader this same peice is turned up.

Looks like my loader is definitely a model 30. Where would I locate these plates that mount on the frame rails? They sure would be handy. I could space it out with nuts too, but if there is a factory solution, I'd prefer that.
