Volunteer corn in next years wheat?

I recently planted some wheat into some ground that had corn on it this year. The corn was chopped but there were many, many ears left on the ground. I disced it up and then seeded the wheat. Will the corn come up next year, or rot through the winter? If it does come up is there anything i can do about it? Will it cause problems? Thanks!

I do not think the corn seed will carry over the winter. It will more than likely sprout this fall and the plant will die this winter. In my opinion it would take an awful lot of volunteer corn in wheat to justify the damage driving throught wheat to kill the corn.

here everybody plants corn wheat rotation. I never see corn in the wheat, maybe they spray it but I think that the fast growing wheat in the spring would stunt any corn that tried to grow.

Roundup and a wick applcator on a front end loader. Drive thur the corn when it is knee high and let the applcator down to brush the corn and it will be dead in a week.
