I went to finish baling straw yesterday and cut roots in the field. First time I ever did that in oat stubble. Was wondering if anyone else is having FUN this year?

last year was the dryest we've had in virginia since 1930, this year is the wettest i can remember in the past 45 years. its been tough either way. alast, a farmer is never happy with the weather.

You're right. It would be nice to have the perfect growing season just once. However that would mean warm and wet and that is not real good for a good harvest. Crops looked real good this year accept the fields are so wet. Last year we were dry here in northern Pa. but had a little more rain than some other areas in our state and the northeast. I guess that's what makes farming a challenge.
