My inboard knotter is plugging up at 75-100 bales with the cut off twine, clean it out its fine. What is wrong with it, done it for quite awhile; I have put new knives in and use the green twine

Hi, are these twine fibers that are 2 inches long?
Is it an 'all twine knotter'? Is the twine thicker than normal? Could be that twine disk requires adjustment. If the twine disk is too tight it will shave fibers off the twine. I can't remember if you had to add shims or if it was a spring tension adjustment on the 430. I remember the 46 you had to add or remove shims from the twine disk. My brother has a 430 all twine knotter and he perfers to use black poly twine in it.

Good luck

If it is an all twine knotter, I seem to remember that it is an adjustment nut with a spring on it.
One adjustment is for the bill hook and the other is for the tension on the twine in the twine disk. Consult the Operators manual. Make sure the twine knife is sharp and adjusted properly before attempting any other adjustment.

Other hints: compare the 2 knotters as for adjustments. If you decide to make any adjustment make sure you record the original setting so if adjustment causes some other problem it can be returned to previous setting easily. Never turn adjustment more than 2 turns at once.

Good luck
