I know i should put this under combines. But i have a question? Why do the jd. machines loose some much corn it looks like they drilled corn after harvest. It isn,t just the old machines it the newer ones like 9610. I have seen gleaner and ih machines pick corn and none of them leave but very little in the field. Is this due to not setting machine right or putting to much grain through machine or what? I have seen fields that could have paid for adjustment and extra fuel by driving a little slower. I never havested corn with a combine so don,t know. Just wondering thanks for your help.

It is just not set right. This is very typical of some operators. Just go to your local elevator sometime and watch loads coming in their for quality and cleaness. It will very from nice clean to just as many pieces cobs as grain and they all are running same machine!!! They must be set correctly, this includes the head portion also. This applies to all brands!!!

Just remember , the weakest point in any machine sets on the operators seat. No monitor works as well as getting out of that cab , down on your hands and knees, to see what's going over. This also applies to grain loss at the cutter bar.
