My Mom is trying to sell my Dad's old Kemp shredder Model #K6CH. It's in great condition but about ten years old. What price tag should she put on it? Thanks

Back in 1980 I bought a used 5 hp kemp for $250. I sold it in 1985 for the same amount. It kept up it's value. I have seen a similar design, thought it was a kemp at first, of recent manufacture. Dont remember the name right now. They are available. As mentioned, the conditions of sale will drive the selling price. good luck

In their day, the Kemp Shredders were considered by many to be "top of the line". The company ceased operations in the early 90's, due to concerns about liability (I believe that product liability insurance premiums became prohibitive). That said, the 6HP model that your mother has will usually sell for $200-$500, depending on condition and location (and who is looking). They have been offered on eBay occasionally, but not recently.

I own the 8HP (Kohler) electric start version, purchased in 1987, and it does a great job.

I hope this helps.

Once again my ignorance surprises even me. I had assumed it was a rotary mower that hooked to a tractor not a self powered mower. Glad you got an answer

I am not at all familiar with the Kemp brand name. Matter of fact I have never heard of it before. However more details about the mower will assist others here that may know something about the brand or just in general answer your question. If the mower is a 6 ft 3pt offbrand then $300-$400 is the top dollar range. If it is a well known trailer batwing then it may be worth a couple of thousand. More details would help us help you
