I have just bought a 2-12 Case plow. I think it's a model B or BH. Can anyone tell me the difference between a B and BH? Also can anyone tell me where I could find information on this plow such as the years manufactured, paint codes, or if you can tell about what year it was made. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Anyone own one of these plows or had experiences with them? Also like to find two good steel or spoked wheels for it. Somebody has cut off, bent over, and welded the old spokes to solid rims. I like the spokes wheels better than the "aftermarket" specials. Thanks alot.

The B series was a mechanical lift, the BH had a hydraulic lift. All other aspects were the same. I believe these plows were introduced in the early forties and were discontinued in the early fifties.

Thanks for the info Jim. Is the mechanical lift and trip the same thing? I'm new at the plow stuff. Mine must be a model B. Do you know what color these are supposed to be? All the ones I have seen have been too rusty to tell. Mine has a small spot of green or gray paint on the top part of one of the frames. Any more info would be appreciated. Thanks alot.

If you have to pull a rope to raise or lower the plow, you have a B. If you have to use a Hydraulic cylinder to do that, you have a BH. The last pull type plow that dad bought had a red frame and green wheels and hubs. But it was newer than yours. So I can't help you there. Sorry.

Chris, The "B" series plow was introduced in the late 30's. The frame was CASE gloss red. Levers and axles are Case Implement Green (really close to JD green). I use Van Sickle Med Green. The wheels were CASE Wheel Green. It is sort of a Euclid Green, more yellow than green.
