This is the 3 point pto driven rake. Condidering fixing up one of these and was just wondering if it actually worth the effort. Needs 2 spider arm bearings, probably all 108 rake teeth, both caster wheels and tires, belt and some frame repairs. Most people around here use the ground driven types which indicates that they are the prefered type. My guess would be that money spent to repair the pto rake would buy a useable ground driven rake. Would my efforts be better spent on a later model ground driven rake?

Hi, I saw your post. I am looking for parts off a ferg D-EO-20 or 25 rake. I need one of the large spider wheels that run the bars. Let me know if you have one to part out. Thanks, Terry

I've been using a neighbor's MF 36 while my old AC pto rake is in sick bay awaiting a gearbox transplant. I agree the teeth are inexpensive. I told the neighbor I'd fix the teeth on his for its' use. I got away cheap! It's ground driven as another post mentioned but I like the feature of being able to turn it off/on. I can give you the name of a Massey dealer in Alberta who could likely supply the parts if your interested.

I use a similar rake. Mine is a Ferguson DEO-25 which is the same rake only wider than a DEO-20. I like better than a ground drive because I work small parcels of land. I find that a 3 point rake is handier for my because I can pick it up and position it where I need it. A pull behind ground drive rake was just to cumbersome for my application. As for the pto speed beating the hay to death, I don't see why you couldn't slow the engine down if that were happening then go up a gear if the ground speed was too slow for your liking. I use my Fergie rake with a Ford 800 series tractor. All the parts you need may wind up costing some money. I'm still able to get the correct teeth from my local dealer for about $1.20 a piece. If your MF dealer says he can't find your rake in his system ask him to look up a MF 25 or MF 36 rake. The 25 is a pto rake and the 36 is a pull behind ground drive, but teeth and teeth clamps will work on the Fergie DEO rakes. Other parts may interchange also, but I can't swear to it. I'm pretty sure the basket ribs are the same but I don't know about bearings.

Hi we had one of these rakes back in the late 1950s. The problem with these rakes were that if you reved the tractor to much the pto speed would
run the rake to fast and the rake would beat all the leaves off the hay. The Ferguson and MF tractors had a special PTO setting called Ground Drive that the PTO speed was tied to speed of the rear wheels not the engine RPM. This feature would
fix the problem with this rake beating the leaves off. Unfortunately we did not have a Ferguson or MF tractor so traded rake for a Lely wheel rake in the mid 1960s.

My 2 cents worth.
