yah it might be the back of a dump druck, because the axel looks like it has spider gears inside maybe they put a cap where the shaft went it? the pto drives the dumper not the wheels but the dumper doesnt look hydraulic there may be hoses but i couldnt see them (its sunk into the ground about 6 inches) anyway if its not IH i might weight to restore since its full of rocks

It wouldn't be an old dump truck someone cut the frame and made a hitch on would it. That happens around here rather frequently. Get one the motor is dead on and it needs a bunch of work, then cut the frame and keep the pump on it and use the Tractors PTO to power the hydraulics and off you go. Set it up properly and you can have a good dump trailer that costs you $10 to tag each year and doesn't have to have insurance instead of $200+ for 20000lbs tags and pull it with the truck you already have the weight tags on and hitch the tractor to it when you want to dump.

Does the PTO run the dump mechanism,or does it drive the wheels?Might be/or be made from,an old "grain cart".PTO drives wheels at a speed to appx match one of the tractors lower gears. There were also homegrown pulpwood trailers made this way yrs ago, which later turned into the modern "forwarder" used by modern loggers.
