We just got a old new New Holland 271 hayliner - it has a new 5.7x15" farm implement tire on the outer edge by the pickup - BUT in the raised postion all is OK, but when you put the pickup lower the main shaft running through the pickup rubs on the outer edge of the tire...
don't know if all 271s have the little rope deal connected to the outer wheel to make the swinging tongue work or not but this one has that - everything seems straight and not bent and in proper placement....

ANY good ideas out there?

You all got me curious enough to pull out the parts manual (NH270/271):

LH tire is 6:40x15 6 ply original
RH tire is 5:00x15 4 ply original

In short, the solution is to get a skinnier tire.

I can't speak for your NH, but my JD 14T has a 5.00 - 15 on the pick-up side, similar to the other's comments. My question is - where can you find a replacement that size?

Good luck,
Bill

I also have a NH275 with a 5.00 X 15. I think your tire is too big. John in NY
