Does anyone know where I can get a manual for a Ford 14-92 Sickle bar mower. Ford don't have any account of ever making this model number. Thank you

You have a 501 series of mower. Its model is 14-92. The 501 series parts fit almost all of the models. The model numbers are different configurations. The 501 was introduced in the mid 50's and continued for many years into the late 70's or later. There was 2 basic frames for the 501, the 56 and 76 inch and each could be configured with 6, 7, or 8 foot cutterbars. The 56 was for smaller tractors running a 56 inch center to center tire width and the 76 was for the 76 inch C to C tire settings. I don't have the information in front of me at work but I do have it at the house somewhere about which configuration the 14-92 was. I almost think it was the 56 with the 6ft cutter bar. These manuals are constantly showing up on eBay so that might be a good source for getting one. A good example of the series vs model is the 601 series of Ford tractors with the 641 model being the most common

I have a 501, got a 14-92 at auction in better shape. Only difference I see is a longer 'big pipe' so a tractor with a wider tread can be used on the 14-92, and the bolt hole that holds the end board on is smaller on the 14-92.

Dealer couldn't find parts either, I just said 501 then, & everything fits. I'm wondering too about the model name issue, but basically it's a 501.

I've got a Ford sicklebar mower...both the data plate and sticker on it say it is a Model 515. But further down the data plate it also says something like "Series Number" and a number 14-something-or-other. I believe that is a throw-back to the even older Dearborne sicklebar mowers that preceded them and used Model numbers 14 dash-something.

Anyway, call New Holland pubs with the information you have...if they're unsure, you can tell them to look for a series number rather than model number. So far, I've never been able to stump them with any of my old equipment--they've always been able to cough up a reprinted manual.

go to your ford NH dealer they sell the manual, parts book and most parts. It is a 501 mower
