Mine has been drilled and I use grade #2 5/16. not as hard to find as the Jd step bolt. Make sure they are long enough to shear in the solid part not in the threads.

I don't know the grade but JD's Part # for the 1/4" bolt (s/n 32868+)is: AE 14495 E. The nyloc nut is: C 12202 C. Having said that, it would be interesting to know how many people use the "genuine" bolts (I do) and how many use whatever else may be put in its' place. I had to buy a box of 50 when I put my 14T back to work several years ago, have made a few thousand bales since and I still have 48 left! Hope this helps.

I need a manual for the John Deere 14T hay baler. Do you know where I may find one?

Thanks,

I just read the other post. The BP# he gave is probably correct. My parts book, like most everything else around here (including me!) is getting a little long in the tooth. He's also right about using the "Genuine" part - $0.42 cents looks pretty cheap compared to a new set of needles!!

Get the proper shear bolt from Deere. Not worth risking parts breakage from the wrong bolt.

Deere # BP13931... $0.42 each at my local dealer!
