I have a New Idea Loader mounted on a 53 Super M and don't know how to hook up the hyd pistons. The pistons came with the loader, "I think" and the only inlets they have are on the piston shafts up near where the hook to the loader frame. Could the hyd oil possibly travel down the center of the piston shaft? I've got the control valves figured out but don't know where to hook the lines to the two long pistons. Thanks for any help.

I have a New Idea loader on my 560 it has 2-way cylinders for the lift arms and both hoses (up and down) go in the top end of the piston end of the cylinder Never had one apart and dont know what the plumbing inside looks but thats how they go on. I used 1/2" pipe up the sides of my loader arms to keep hoses shorter. Don't have any pics but might be able to get some. Brian

Brian in MO, Thanks for the quick response. Looks like exactly how my pistons should hook up. No the y are not upside down, I've seen pictures of others installed the same way but couldn't make out the plumbing scheme from the picture. Thanks again and have a great Fall Season. Dick in Vermont.

new idea used single acting cylinders. i don't understand what you need. The hoses need to be hooked to the lower stationary end of the cylinder otherwise when you lift the loader the hoes would have to be real long to follow the stroke.

Sounds like they both have their cylinders in upside down. The outer diameter of the cylinder should be stationary, and only the piston extends, not the hoses.

My cylinders are not upside down! I know it sounds crazy and I have never seen any others like it but the big end is down on the frame and the part that slides out attaches to the loader arms, just like every other loader but the hoses both go into the ram end up where it hooks to the loader.
