JD 216ws Bailer

I recently bouhgt a 216ws wire tie bailer for 250.00 that had a broken needle on the left side. spent 125.00 for a needle and went completely through the bailer. The bailer works great but still misses 2 bails every once in a while, could be after 6 bails, might be after 20 or 30 bails. The right side seems to miss the most. When it misses the tie, looking from the wagon, I have the short end of the wire and the long end is normally found tied in with the next bail. Occassionally I get two bails with one continuess wire around the right side which leads me to believe the needle is missing the wire on the way up but can't figure out what is causing the other problem of just missing the tie twice in a row. This thing is really a nice bailer and well kept, but has set for awhile. help needed.

Ray; roll your knotter back and look at the twister slot where it does the work. There is 1 or 2 bolts that hold the knotter down on the frame. It has been several years sense I had one of these balers. Mine was a 114 W. Those twist sometimes hang in the slot and when it gets more than 2 twists stuck in the slot they will miss. Clean the slot out and it will work better .
