Long story short I found a stump with my 488 conditioner. I had too much help when I was taking it apart and didn't notice but when putting it back together realized that for the head to sit evenly on the ground the pair of springs on each side are not set the same. Is that correct ?? I hadn't considered that until I realized it but am assuming its due to the extra weight of the wobble box etc on the end. Any other thoughts or suggestions appreciated. Thanks.

drawbolt or spring length differences are immaterial. What is important is proper header float; equal on each side. Usually between 80 and 120 lbs to lift a side off the shoes. Your setting may vary with slope, speed, cutting height, and type and quantity of rock.
