Out baling (Model 68 with a 50 thrower)last week, I overfaced my Massey 65 coming down a hill with the baler and a full wagon. Stupid. I knew it was a little slick and was gonna be risky, and did it anyway. "Gethomeitis", I guess. The rig jackknifed and bent the tongue behind the baler that pulls the wagon. That's easy enough to fix, but now every now and then a bale gets wedged kinda sideways in the chamber just before it enters the thrower. Can't see any obvious bends or wrinkles, but this wasn't happening before. I guess the way to be sure isto measure it for square. I did notice that there are several vertical, triangle shaped strips in the chamber and three are missing. Are these there to keep the bale from getting wedged agains the side?

Those are called hay stops. There need to be 4 of them in the chamber. NH part # 32124
I think 3 bucks each.

Those pieces are retarders. They help to hold the hay in place while the bale is being made. Makes for a more solid, well-formed bale.
