Help with IHC feed grinder

i have a ihc belt driven feed grinder. i would like to grind corn with it, can i do this?

Since it is belt driven, I assume it has to be anchored to the floor of the granary, right? It could be either a hammermill or a burr mill. A hammermill will have flat knives mounted on a rotating shaft assembly, and a screen with many holes that the feed is forced through. A burr mill has a round bowl-like portion at the base of the hopper, which is where the grinding happens, and the feed is discharged through a chute at the bottom of the bowl. Fineness of grind is varied by turning handwheels. Either can grind shelled or cob corn, but I think the burr mill is pretty slow with cob corn.

it is a burr mill that has two beater type things that has a bar inbetween them that sits ontop of the bowl portion. then the feed is forced into a grindstone then out the shute am i right?

1. What model are we talking about, I'll assume an older grinder, but have heard newer grinder/mixers called that too. What screens do you have?

2. What do you mean by corn, shell corn or ear corn?
