I have an IH sickle bar mower and would like to identify the IH tractors it fits. I have been unable to find a model no. for the entire mower. However, the following are some of the part nos. appearing on major components of the mower. MA2515, M2566, M2567, M2570, M2564, and MB735. What's the model no. for the mower and the tractors it fits? Would greatly appreciate any help.

I have a mower with the numbers ma-2570 (Flywheel connected to the power takeoff shaft) and m2572 (this piece connected to the wooden arm running the knife) and mc 1402 (part of the lift assembly) These are the only numbers I can find. This mower is mounted on my farmall super c. It is raised and lowered by the touch control hydraulic system. It mows fairly well. When I stand at the back of the tractor and look at the cutter bar when its down it is dragging behind. (not at 90 degrees with the tractor). I am told it should appear to be about 4 inches ahead. I moved it ahead of the 90 degree line by repositioning the front of the break-away-assembly rod where its attached to the frame under the tractor axle. However, when it was positioned like this the mower cutter bar would only run with the mower in the raised posiiton. When it is lowered to the ground the flywheel breaks away from the drive shaft power source. I done a lot of fussen with this and finally put it back where it originally was when I bought the tractor and mower. The mower was kind of like a freebe and I am looking to buy a rotary, hopefully to eliminate the plug ups.

Ira: I doubt that those part numbers of major components are going to help identify your mower. Most of the power train and cutter bar on all those mowers were exactly the same. The only part that was different was the frame for mounting to tractor.

Try answering some of these questions; Is the plow fully mounted or does it have a castering tail wheel? Is it raised by hand lever or hydraulics? If hand lever where in relation to right or left of mower? If hydraulic is it designed for remote cylinder, or is there a rod going along left side of tractor to hook it touch control? At mounting point describe attachments.
