I have a 1953 or so forage harvester with a V4 Wisconsin gas engine. The fellow that I got it from went through the mag but couldn't get the engine to run. I pulled the mag off and checked the points and so on and everything is good as far as I can tell.
Now is where my dilemma starts. Where do you find the timing marks on the engine? Which cylinder is number 1? What is the fireing order? Any and all info will be appreciated, and printed for future use by others.
Thanks, Mark Scholten

Hi, my Dad had a NH forage harvester in 1952 to 56 that had the same air cooled V4 Wisconsin engine. If I remember correctly (almost 50 years ago) the firing order was stamped in either the exhaust or intake manifold. Never had to work on ours much, just change oil, clean crap out of air cooling passages and spark plugs. Spent more time working on corn head.

Good luck
JB
