This mower is pulled behind my Farmall A. Don't know Model No. It has a short lever to activate the lift. I pull on it and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. When it doesn't, I get off the tractor and give the arm that moves the linkage to raise or lower the bar a kick and then it will move around. Sometimes it moves around on it's own when I hit a bump. Is this thing all mechanical and what does it need? I replaced the pitman, the cutting teeth and a few bolts where plates guide the bar near the ball joint on the end of the pitman. I had to juryrig the ball joint to keep it from coming apart. All works now ok, except the up and down.

I had one of those years ago and it worked well, so I don't think its the basic design. Look for sticky rusty loose linkage.
