Does anyone know of a chart online which cross references Plastic and Steel corn planter plates, as well as manufacturers?

Also, what is a fair price for used plates? I found a guy with well over a hundred, and have to buy the whole lot to get the ones I need. They are mostly IH, but some JD.

Mike

If you can find some old seed corn bags, most seed companies used to print on the bag the proper plate for most of the major manufactures of corn planters.
Most of the last plates manufactured were plastic and i believe they were only a couple $ each.
Good luck

Last year I purchased a new M-F single row corn planter to plant beans. The machine came with the largest plate that I have ever seen so I ordered a new plate which proved to be to large. The dealer charged me $22.00 for that piece of plastic. Where can I find some of those plates for a couple of bucks.
