I am restoring a 16-A mower for my '39 A Farmall. I have never used this mower before. Was it a good mower to mow hay with? I am just wondering if I am wasting my time fixing this old mower up. I am close to having it finished and I am wondering if I wasted alot of time.

My father said that ours cut pretty good (6'). We have one but haven't used it in 35 years, maybe someday. The problem was monuting it on our Farmall H, you have to take the drawbars off. Once it is on it is good but a lot of work to go from drawbar to mower to drawbar . Was there a way to rig up a hydraulic cylinder to lift up the cutter bar?

No my mower is on an '39 A farmall that didn't have the hydraulic lift option. The mower has a manual lift handle.
