I have a New Holland tow behind mower (Model 45 46 47) that needs a new sickle bar. Any ideas where I might find one? I've tried the local salvage yards, TSC, even a New Holland dealer, all to no avail. Will one of the newer bolt and bushing types work if I replace the foot? Thanks in advance, Bob

Get yourself the manual if you don't have it. New Holland still sells the manual...the model you have depends on the method of attaching to the tractor. My brother had one model at he attached it to his farmall my with bolts. My cousin had another model as he used it as a 3point. the manual covers all three models...
good luck

I just got everything to completely rebuild my 45 46 47 from John Webb at www.sickleservice.com.
You will have to call him because they don't list the parts on the site. Excellent fast service. I know that the heads for the sickles are no longer made and that he at least has a few left. Good luck.

If the back and inner end are ok your best bet might be to get new knives and replace them. I would think the main difference in different brands of sickles would be in the inner end, perhaps you could find a similar one and just change that from your old one.
