How would you level a racetrack?

I just had a buddy cut a race track out with a bobcat. I know nothing about dirt work. How do I level and smooth it out. I have access to a ford tractor. Someone suggested making a dragmat out of chain link fence?

Smoothed out a lot of parking lot with a 3pt hitch back blade. Turned blade backwards, and dragged it. (set hydraulics to float) Dirt would pile up a bit in front of blade, and then begin to slide under edge, and fill in holes, etc. Another member has fixed up an I beam about 6' long, supported by chains from a boom pole. That works similarly, and does a nice job. Plus, you can weight the beam with rocks, if necessary!

At the track where we race, they use a deal that is made out of heavy channel. It is made into a triangel about 6 foot per side. They then have round bar stock welded all around the outside perimeter pointing down. I would guess they are about 4" apart. They drag this around the track with a pickup to level it and break the glaze after using the road grader and between the heats and the feature.
