Never seen a tillage point like this before. Looks like it could be useful for some stuff I need to do, but I need to know what you call this style so I can try to find some.

Looks like a plow bottom for a one wheel push type garden cultivator, 4-6" furrow

I've heard of jointers on plows, but never seen one.

This is not a regular cultivator 1/2 sweep. It would move way too much dirt. It would not be for use next to a wheel on a cultivator. It could be used on a row crop cultivator for throwing dirt away from the row, or towards the row. Specialty application.

I've heard of 'hillers' for some crops. Haven't seen one, maybe in sugar beet, potato, or tobacco areas????? I do not know, just speculating. Making mound before planting, or after the crop comes up?

For flood irrigation, they need raised rows. Again, speculating?

Dad came across a set of much less aggressive sweeps like that, put them on the row cultivator next to the row throwing dirt away from the row & they did a nice job! However, I'm not sure something that big would work.

Looks like a half-sweep to me. Used on cultivator shank next to the row. Usually next to the shield so can get close but not cover the plants, but still get close to row & get the weeds.

To me it looks like at jointer. Generally mounted on next to the coulter disk to function as a scraper best I can tell. I have only seen pics of them mounted to plows. Never seen one in action and from reading below I guess now I know why.

Looks to me as if it's a right hand 1/2 sweep which would be placed next to a wheel or any other obstruction on a cultivator where a complete sweep would interfear. Both right and left hand sweeps are available.

Looks like a jointer for a moldboard plow. It was an attachment to fasten to coulter to assist in covering trash

I have seen many of them around machine sheds. Never did know of anybody to leave them on very long. Lotza them out there.

My original landlord(Before his kids got(destroyed) the place), ran them until he died at 96 on his JD 3-14 high speed mtd. plows..... ..Personally, I think they are a joke and just suck up hp, but he was a believer. But again, the job those old Deere plows did left alot to be desired, maybe he got them to plow alittle better with the jointers helping to open the furrow..... .But IMO, they seem to be more of a pain than anything else(Plus the wasted $$$ to replace the jointers themselves).
