I am in the final stages of rebuilding an antique brush-hog the drive shaft has an unusual ball shaped bearing that appears to be made of oilite or brass. It fits into a socket that looks somewhat like a pillowblock. There are no grease fitings on the pillowblock, just a hole in the top. I have no idea what type of lubricant this joint takes as I have never seen one like it. Can anyone out there help me out. Thamks.

It is probably Oilite. Use 30 weight oil on it thru the hole in the top.
